The 2018/2019 ski season in Park City, UT has some notable changes from years past offering skiers visiting the area a number of options for a season or punch pass type of ski pass during their visit. With Vail Resorts entering the market a few years ago and Alterra Mountain Co acquiring Deer Valley Resort this year, visitors now have multiple options to choose from depending on how they want to utilize the areas resorts.
This is the newest option for those visiting the Park City area who are looking to ski Deer Valley Resort and even Solitude Resort. If you only plan on skiing Deer Valley for 7 days or less, the Ikon Pass could be the perfect option for you. Many will find they can spread the ski days during a trip out a little further by adding a few day trips to Solitude while they are staying in Park City. The Base Pass that has certain blackout dates throughout the ski season starts at $750 and includes unlimited access to many other ski destinations if you are an avid travel skier. For those that spend a more significant amount of time skiing in Deer Valley, a season pass can be purchased for $2,766.
In it's third year in the Park City area, the Epic Pass has been a hit with locals and visitors alike in offering unlimited (or restricted with a "Local" Pass) access to Park City Resort and 26 other destinations across the world. The Local Pass which has peak season restrictions for certain dates is now selling for $709 with the unrestricted Epic Pass selling for $949. For those skiers looking to get in 50+ days and like being not being restricted from certain days of skiing this is the perfect option for them. Many locals who are avid skiers and enjoy traveling to other resorts outside of the Park City area can hit up resorts like Heavenly, Vail, Breck, and many others within a short drive or fly time from the Salt Lake City area.
Mountain Collective Pass
The Mountain Collective Pass is becoming more and more popular amongst local avid skiers and is somewhat of a "supplement" pass to add on to either the Epic or Ikon passes above. This pass offers two day passes at 17 different destinations with many of these being in Utah or close to it. Resorts like Alta, Snowbasin, Snowbird, Jackson Hole, and Sun Valley are all in on this pass and if you do even minimal days at other resorts throughout the ski season this can be a real money saver option. We find lots of locals who will purchase an Epic or Ikon and also want to travel to other destinations making this the perfect add-on pass. If you are someone who wants to ski a variety of areas but may not need more than one or two days at each location then this could function perfectly as a season pass for you at an affordable price.
We are all hoping for a substantial snow year for the 2018/2019 ski season. While you're out on your vacation exploring the Park City & Deer Valley areas, be sure to contact a local Park City Realtor to help you in your search should you decide to make this place a "second home"!
