While Park City, Utah is a paradise in itself, there are many locals that escape to the tropical paradise of Hawaii.  And, why not, it is the other side of the best of what nature has to offer, and one that is a vacation experience that brings Park City residents back year after year. For mountain town residents, Hawaii is the “hot spot” in the Central Pacific.  Park City residents have the option to visit Hawaii, and six of its major islands. The Big Island, Oahu, Maui, Jauai, Molokai, and Lanai.
Interested in real estate in Hawaii? Search Oahu Real Estate.   Two other major islands are the Nihua and Kahoolawe, however, they are not open for tourism. Niihua is a privately owned island.  Tourism is limited to helicopter, hunting excursions and ATV…

We are having an interesting winter here in Park City Utah. Snowfall has been sparse for an entire month and the resorts are starting to feel the pressure. This small ski town survives on the ski industry and with the snowfall being the worst it has been in many years, people are started to get worried. I think most of us have some sort of weather forecasting website on our bookmarks right now just waiting to see what is to come.

While the skiing hasn't been particularly good by any means, the warm weather and lack of snow have made it great for hiking. I must say, this is the first time since I have lived here that I can takemy dog for a hike (without snowshoes) in the middle of January. I took a few shots the other day while on a hike above Pinebrook

Yesterday, the Park City Mountain Resort released a new app they have been developing to further engage consumers visiting the mountain. I must say, I pretty impressed with the functionality they have developed into the application. We have all seen the skiing and snowboarding applications on our smartphones that use GPS information to track our movements, but PCMR has taken it one step further on their branded application. This is a great move to greatly improve the user experience among visitors to the mountain.

What can this app do? PCMR says:

  • Plan: using our unique MyMountainPlanner personal mountain tours and real-time conditions
  • Track: record live statistics including number of runs, total vertical, maximum speed and distance traveled
